Blue blood are red?

Is your blood blue are red

Mr. D:

First thing: Blood is *never* blue. Blood is described as dark red (venous) or bright red (arterial). Our veins look blue because we are looking at them *through* our skin. The blood inside them is dark red and it doesn't reflect light very well. The blood you see when you get hurt is usually venous blood. Arterial blood comes out in spurts. It spurts every time the heart beats. I hope you never see that.

Mr. D: Your *blood* does not ever *look* blue. The blue things you see under your skin are veins. Veins are really whitish in color but because the blood is dark and the skin difuses the light, the veins *look* blue.

Ashleigh: Thank you again for writing back. Thank you for the answers. I will tell Mr. Johnson about this. I do not even know if he knows about the blood thing. I like the way you think too.

Heather: So when you bleed the blue blood does not meet the air and turn red ?

Mr. D: No, the dark red blood *may* pick up

Reply:What ?????? I say red . LOL!!!
Reply:Well to answer your question, the blood is bluish looking when it is in the veins, and dark red from the richness of the oxygen. It is bluish looking because there is Co2, and other wastes. I say this because I have cut open dead bodies I see this, And the oxygenated blood looks like a crayon, or red lipstick. I am not full of shiit, and the pics in the anatomy books look nothing like the real thing, because every body is different. I go to Med school for crying out loud, and I have to be in cadaver lab for a whole year! All I have now is one more lab. And veins are dark color on the outside, nerves are whitish, and shinier but flat. Veins are collapsed, while arteries are fuller because the blood is usually still in there, they also are the ones that have expandable walls, veins do not. When a person is alive they do however store the most blood. 60% of blood that is in the body is stored in the veins, until the body damands more oxygen and nutrients. And most of the vessels have a brownish look to them, including arteries and veins.
